Integrative Psychiatry

Mental health is deeply human and deeply biological. It lives in your nervous system, your sleep, your hormones, your nutrition, your relationships, your stress load, your sense of meaning. It’s shaped by what you’ve lived through, and also by what your body has been carrying quietly in the background.

My approach is integrative psychiatry: a steady blend of evidence-based, standard-of-care medication management and whole-person care. The goal is never to “optimize” you into someone else. It’s to help you come home to yourself with more stability, clarity, and freedom.

What we do together

I begin with a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation. This is a space to slow down and take in the full picture: your symptoms, history, strengths, patterns, and what you’re hoping for. We’ll name what’s happening, explore options, and build a plan that feels both clinically sound and personally aligned.

Follow-up visits are 30 minutes and are meant to be practical, grounded, and responsive, tracking what’s changing, what’s stuck, and what support your system is asking for next.

Integrative means we look under the hood

Mood symptoms are not just “in your head.” They can be intensified by biological vulnerabilities that are treatable: nutrient deficiencies, thyroid patterns, inflammation, metabolic concerns, iron issues, vitamin D, B vitamins, and more. When it’s appropriate, I recommend lab work to help us identify what may be quietly contributing to depression, anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, irritability, or poor sleep.

This isn’t about chasing endless testing. It’s about listening carefully to your body and not missing the basics that can make healing harder than it needs to be.

Medication, with choice and respect

Medication is always an invitation, never a requirement. If we consider it, we’ll do so slowly and thoughtfully, with space for your questions, your hesitations, and your values. The goal isn’t to change your personality or make you feel unlike yourself. It’s to reduce the noise and suffering that keep you stuck, so you have more choice in how you respond, how you live, and how fully you can embody what matters to you.

If medication isn’t the right fit right now, we’ll still build a plan that supports your nervous system and your life, and we can revisit the conversation anytime, without pressure.

Thoughtful support beyond medication

Medication can be life-changing. It can also be one part of a broader foundation. When it fits your needs and your preferences, I may suggest evidence-informed supplements as an adjunct to your care. I use Fullscript to recommend quality options and dosing with attention to safety, interactions, and whether something is truly worth adding.

Lifestyle is a constellation

We also explore the everyday terrain that shapes mental health:

  • Sleep and daily rhythm

  • Movement and exercise

  • Nutrition and blood sugar stability

  • Education/employment stress and cognitive load

  • Alcohol/substance use

  • Hobbies, creativity, and pleasure

  • Relationships and support systems

  • Your “life worth living” goals—what you want your life to feel like, not only what you want to stop feeling

This part is not about perfection. It’s about understanding what helps your system feel safe, steady, and resourced—so your treatment actually has somewhere to land.

The heart of this work

My intention is to offer care that is warm, precise, and deeply respectful, care that honors both science and story. Together, we focus on symptom relief and on building capacity: more resilience, more self-trust, and a life that feels fuller and more yours.

With steady care.
